City Guardians

We operate a team of City Guardians in partnership with Westminster City Council. The team has an on-street presence from 8am until 10pm, Monday to Saturday, deterring crime, reporting incidents and acting as ambassadors for the thousands of visitors to our area every day. They provide a uniformed reassurance to the public at a time when London is on a state of high alert.

The City Guardians achieve impressive results working closely with Westminster City Council and the Metropolitan Police playing a vital role in helping reduce crime and anti-social behaviour, meeting regularly to share information and deliver intelligence-led patrolling. For the latest facts and figures on our work please click here to see our Interim Report or visit Westminster.gov.uk

Through Heart of London Business Watch we work with businesses to unify processes to beat retail crime and operate a Radio Link scheme to help business share vital information.

We are actively involved with CCTV, ensuring CCTV intelligence from the streets is acted upon speedily and effectively. Click here for more information on the Westminster CCTV Trust.

In conjunction with the Metropolitan Police we assisted with the implementation of the Heart of London Pavilion - a mini police station located on the junction of Shaftesbury Avenue and Coventry Street. This permanently staffed police station is the focal point for communication and action with all our community partners.
